International Summer School - Intangible Cultural Heritage Research & Management

The Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Research & Management Summer School aims to provide comprehensive theoretical framework and practical tools to executives and managers within the public and private sectors in the fields of cultural assets management, event organization and tourism strategic planning. The participants will learn how to explore and valorize ICH resources for the benefit of all stakeholders, following the UNESCO, WTO and UNWTO sustainable economic development principles.

Scientifically backed by the Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski" the school will profit from the direct involvement of internationally established scholars from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, three other Bulgarian universities, ICH certified facilitators, government administration practitioners and specialists from the private business in the fields of anthropology, ethnology, cultural studies, tourism and business management.

Participants in the ICH Research & Management School (advanced degree students, government  – national, regional, local – and NGO employees, owners of travel businesses and event organizers, specialists in all fields of cultural management), will benefit from networking with theoreticians, practitioners, local and national stakeholders, catalyzing further international cooperation in the complex fields of intangible cultural heritage research and management, in addition to accelerating their personal career development and spurring innovation in their business.
