13.09.2015. 00:00 | Moyland

Venue: 13-19 September 2015, Museum Schloss Moyland, Germany

Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf (Institute of Art History), Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Kamp-Lintfort (Faculty Environment and Energy) and the Museum Schloss Moyland Foundation in Bedburg-Hau have cooperated in organising and offering a summer school on digital media concepts for art education. The use of social media channels and digital media in the field of knowledge transfer offers new chances for exhibitions and the presentation of art collections. The summer school aims at developing a new and pioneering approach using Storytelling as a method to communicate the challenging artworks to a large audience. The interdisciplinary composition of summer school is going to bring together an impressive array of research and knowledge exchange activity. Fields of specialism range from art history, media technology and art education to information science and museology. Museum staff, technicians, educationalists and art historians are going to meet in an international surrounding and enter into a creative and productive dialogue that aims at inspiring junior scientists to explore new fields of research. The contemplative Museum Schloss Moyland offers a perfect environment for discussing the question of tomorrow’s art education. The summer school is going to attend to a wide range of questions concerning the benefits and chances which the digital revolution might offer for future exhibitions and museums.  Due to the interdisciplinary network of institutions, scientists, students and museum experts we will be able to offer an application and results-oriented exchange about the perspectives of digital Storytelling for museums.
