Clubture Network

Information

Clubture Network (established 2002 in Zagreb) gathers independent cultural organizations from Croatia and functions as a cooperative platform through which organizations work together in organizing numerous cultural and artistic events in various communities and citizens across the country. Due to the diversity and the range of activities, and the innovative and inclusive model of cooperation and decision-making, the network has become an important actor in the independent cultural production in Croatia, primarily in areas such as urban and youth culture, interdisciplinary art and cultural projects, activist and socially engaged programs etc.

More than 1,500 public cultural events in over 50 cities and towns in Croatia were organized through the Clubture Network in the past decade. Approximately 165 associations, artistic organizations and independent initiatives were gathered through the network.

Activities of Clubture Network are directed towards decentralization of cultural production and the democratization of culture through empowerment and networking organizations of independent culture, strengthening the visibility of the independent scene and advocating positive changes in cultural and related policies.

Alongside a decade of successful program "Clubture-Hr: program exchange and cooperation," the network developed and other activities, such as media project (portal www.kulturpunkt.hr) and wider annual gathering (Clubture Forum). The network is actively engaged in empowering organizations to advocate in the field of cultural policies and in facilitating skills in the non for profit cultural management.

Network Clubture has been active in SEE region since 2005, and has gathered over 100 organizations from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Slovenia, Serbia and Croatia in various activities in the region. Clubture Network is a member of the European umbrella advocacy platform Culture Action Europe since 2007.
