2nd International Danube Conference on Culture

06.05.2014. 09:00 | Novi Sad, Serbia

Ladies and Gentlemen, dear friends and colleagues,

On behalf of the City of Novi Sad and the European Danube Academy we have the pleasure of inviting you to the 2nd International Danube Conference on Culture, which will take place under the motto "Danube cultural stream of Europe" in Novi Sad on 5 and 6 May 2014.

The Danube region has a diversity of cultures unique in Europe. Promoting culture and cultural cooperation is of key importance as contribution to the EU-Strategy for this region. The aim of the conference is to offer a platform where experience from practical local cultural work can be shared, and current cultural policy questions discussed. So, our conference will boost the opportunities of the "Danube cultural macro-region" in Europe.

The conference in Novi Sad is the continuation of the cultural dialogue, networking and exchange which began last year in Ulm.

An official invitation with agenda and application documents will follow in the next few weeks.

The following workshops will be presented:

1. European capitals of culture – experiences and future prospects

2. Danube related events and networks - contributions to the Danube identity?

The conference officially starts on Monday, 5 May, 9:00 a.m. (Arrival date Sunday, 4 May is possible).

The conference officially ends on Tuesday, 6 May, 12:00 p.m. (noon).

A conference fee will not be charged. An application is requested.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Novi Sad at the 2. International Danube Conference on Culture!
