2021 European Capital of Culture - Call for Applications

The Directorate General for Education and Culture of the European Commission encourages cities of the candidate countries (Romania and Greece) and EU candidate countries who participate in the Creative Europe programme, to submit applications under the EU action 'European Capital of Culture' for 2021. The city designated as the European Capital of Culture will aim, through its activity programme, to increase the range, diversity and European dimension of its cultural offer; to foster access to and participation in culture; to strengthen the capacity of its cultural sector and its links to other sectors, as well as to raise its international profile through culture.

The deadline for applications is open until 23 October 2015.
