Call for Proposals for MuseumNext 2015
MuseumNext is Europe’s major conference on the future of museums. The event brings together delegates from around the world to discuss ‘what’s next?’ for the museum sector. The 2015 edition of MuseumNext will take place in the Swiss city of Geneva between 19 – 21 April 2015. The international museum community is now invited to participate in the 2015 conference by proposing presentations, workshops or panel discussions on the subject of ‘What’s next for museums?’ MuseumNext is seeking excellent examples of today which shine a light on the museum of tomorrow.
The event attracts delegates from around the globe, with more than thirty countries represented at the most recent event. Senior management from many of the world’s most visited museums attend the MuseumNext conference. Notably, the conference also serves as a meeting place for the next generation of museum leaders – passionate individuals who are pushing the boundaries in their work or studies.
The conference will be a dialogue about what’s next in all aspects of the museum, including architecture, exhibitions, technology, skills, collections, conservation, purpose and leadership. The event will run over three days, with presentations, debates, workshops and plenty of networking. The international nature of MuseumNext often means that we bring together delegates from very different organisations who are facing similar challenges.
All presentations should deliver thought provoking insight, showcase innovative ideas, reveal ‘how to’ or even share stories of what not to do. At the end of each session we want delegates to be able to take away knowledge that they can apply to their own work.
There are three ways to participate in the MuseumNext Geneva programme: to make a presentation, to run a workshop or to hold a panel discussion.
Presentations at MuseumNext are 20 minutes long, while both the workshop sessions and the panel discussions should be 1 hour 30 minutes. Please keep these timings in mind when making your proposal.
Proposals should contain the following information:
- The title of your presentation, workshop or panel discussion
- Name or names of those presenting
- Summary of your presentation (no more than 500 words)
- Relevant links
- What you expect delegates to learn from your session
Please note that all MuseumNext presentations and proposals should be made in English. The deadline for submitting a proposal is31st October 2014. The proposals should be emailed to email@example.com
After this, an international peer panel will consider all proposals and we shall inform all those, successful or otherwise by 31st November 2014.
- The decision of the panel is final.
- One person from each presentation or workshop will receive free entry to MuseumNext.
- All those participating in a panel discussion will be eligible for free entry to MuseumNext.
